I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Western Carolina University in 1987, and my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Florida A&M University in 1994.

I started my teaching career in Savannah, Georgia and taught 5th grade for 2 years.  In 1989, I returned to Florida where I grew up and taught there for 11 years.  I've been teaching in North Carolina since I moved up here in 2002.   I love teaching at New Market Elementary and consider it a blessing to be part of this community.  I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with my 4th graders! 

I’ve been teaching 4th grade in North Carolina since 2002.  I live in the Sophia area with my husband. I have two grown children. My daughter Emily is married and lives in Asheboro, and my son Caleb lives in Virginia.  He took a job with Amazon and is working as an electrical technician at a data center. My hobbies include spending time with my family, reading, hiking, kayaking, and traveling whenever I get the chance.
